Hey, Barb, we're in the same boat -- the nagging feeling that the time spent blogging might be better spent elsewhere. I've revised a couple of my posts for publication elsewhere, so far without much luck... and envy is the most natural of responses, isn't it?

Most natural, yes, but certainly not the nicest thing to see in yourself. It's pretty humbling.

But I don't think time spent blogging is wasted. Particularly for you. You really generate a lot of discussion in the blogosphere and I think that's really important. It's like you're teaching another class online. Think how many people you've reached by now.

And even for me, with a much smaller audience, I don't think blogging is a waste of time. It helps me organize and develop my thoughts. Only thing is if I spend too much time organizing and developing and never actually get any further. But I'm working on my paper as I type this so maybe I'll prove myself wrong!
